Star Trek: George Takei’s the Knot
Boldly going where some men have gone before, Star Trek alum George Takei and his partner Brad Altman will tie the knot Sept. 14th. Most of George’s Star Trek co-stars will be in attendance.
Walter Koenig(Chekov) will serve as his Best Man. Nichelle Nichols(Uhura) is tapped to be the Matron of Honor; and Leonard Nimoy(Spock) and his wife will be there to show their support. One notable person who is not invited is Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner.
Shatner and Takei have had a growing rift for years. It must be pretty bad, since Shatner is the only original cast member to not be there who is still alive!
Maybe George is upset that he had to remain in the closet during the Star Trek years, while Kirk had a girl on every planet; spreading his seed all over the galaxy? Must have been frustrating?
I always thought George should have hooked up with Trelane. He was the Liberace of the outer universe.
