Robert Wagner Tried to Kill Warren Beatty!
Sunday, August 17th, 2008I know, the headline sounds like its straight out of a trashy tabloid, but the story comes from Wagner himself. In his upcoming memoir ’Pieces of My Heart’, actor Robert Wagner recalls that after losing his wife Natalie Wood, to her ‘Splendor In the Grass’ co-star, Warren Beatty, – Wagner wanted Beatty dead!
A source who has read the book said: “Wagner was ready to kill Beatty. He describes hanging around his house with a gun, hoping he would walk out so he could take a shot.”
Wagner was about to pull an ‘O.J.’ when, “an old friend pulled him out of his desolation and got him into analysis.” Luckily for Beatty, a little heart to heart with a therapist helped Wagner.
I cant blame Robert Wagner; Natalie Wood is to die for. I wonder if Wagner used the experience to get in character for his role as Dr. Evil’s right hand man – Number 2?
Wagner and Wood would later re-marry in 1972. Nine years later, Natalie would drown off the coast of California while on a yacht trip with her husband and actor Christopher Walken. Her death is still shrouded in mystery, although I have always had my suspicions about Christopher Walken? . . . The guy has crazy eyes!
Wagners book hits shelves in September.
