When Clint Eastwood got word that fellow Director Spike Lee had made disparaging remarks about his films ‘Flags of our Fathers’ and ‘Letters from Iwo Jima’, the 72 year old shot back Dirty Harry style, saying: “A guy like him should shut his face.”
Feeling Bamboozled, Jones was upset that there were not any black soldiers in either of the 2006 six films, although black soldiers did fight on the island.
Explaining his reason, Clint said,
“The story is Flags of our Fathers, the famous flag-raising picture, and they didn’t do that. If I go ahead and put an African-American actor in there, people go: ‘This guy’s lost his mind’. I mean, it’s not accurate.”
This feud may go on longer than watching ‘Flags of Our fathers’ or any of Spike Lee’s “Joints”?
These two dueling Directors can solve this dilemma by casting Michael Jackson in each of their upcoming projects. Michael is neither black or white, . . . he’s not even beige, . . . he’s just a man a person!
